The Church of the Ascension, Seattle, has been recognized as a GreenFaith Sanctuary after completing a rigorous 2-year GreenFaith Certification program through Certification acknowledges religious-environmental leaders who have carried out a range of initiatives to integrate environmental themes into their worship, religious education, facility maintenance as well as social outreach actions over a two-year period.

New Nonprofit aids those who grieve

Announcing the formation of a new nonprofit organization designed to help people see and be seen in their lives as they cross their metaphorical thresholds to healing and greater authenticity. Threshold Journey is based in Sisters, Oregon and was founded by Jack Erskine and Christy Close Erskine, husband and wife Pastors and Spiritual Leaders. The couple will lead retreats and sessions in various locations in Central Oregon and beyond. Read more »

Diocese and NW Harvest strengthen old ties - Donating made easy

There is now a donation bin at Diocesan House where the hundreds of volunteers, committee members and other visitors can leave nonperishable food. In 1967 the Ecumenical Metropolitan Ministry (an interfaith organization) was founded to identify and address primary problems of the disadvantaged in the greater Seattle area. Hunger was soon identified as one of the biggest problems and efforts to address this problem were launched in St. Mark’s parking lot and headquartered in the basement of Diocesan House until 1980. Video of Compline at St. Mark's Cathedral

Austin Rickel and Markdavin Obenza have done two wonderful videos about the Compline service at St. Mark's Cathedral.  This iconic Seattle event has occurred every Sunday for 58 years.  The service is at 9:30PM every Sunday and can also be heard on KING-FM 98.1.  All are welcome to this contemplative service.  For more information and podcasts of previous services you can visit the Compline Choir website.
