How You Can Help the Refugee Resettlement Office

Our Refugee Resettlement Office has welcomed around 25 new refugee families in the last six weeks. While we’re excited to welcome these people into Washington, it was more than we were expecting and we need your help. One of the biggest things to help refugees settle into their new homes and lives is to have a job. There are two ways you can help the refugees get jobs.

1. Be A Buddy

We’re looking for people with flexible free time to partner with a refugee to help them get a job. This involves helping them find and submit online applications, and driving to and from interviews. You need not be a job search expert, just a friend. If you can volunteer, please call Kyle Wilke on 206-323-3152.

2. Are you hiring?

The RRO helps match refugees with jobs. If you have a job opening we’d love to hear from you. To help support the refugees best, we ask the role be full-time (or close to it), permanent or long-term (preferred), and declared.

The Syrian Refugee Appeal is still running and all donations are appreciated. With a larger than expected number of families arriving, it all helps.
