Fierce Conversations

The Office of the Bishop invites clergy to Fierce Conversations, a two-day workshop on how to have the vital conversations that interrogate reality, provoke learning, resolve tough challenges and enrich relationships. While no single conversation is guaranteed to change the trajectory of a career, a congregation, a relationship, or a life…any single conversation can.

These workshops will provide sixteen hours of experiential training on how to have more productive conversations. The skills learned will be immediately applicable to one’s personal and professional life. As accredited providers for Fierce, Inc. in the Episcopal Church, the faculty for this training from the Nicolas Center (Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows, Courtney Reid, Jim Steen) have provided Fierce training in a variety of church and diocesan contexts.

Fierce Conversations will take place Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 2, 9 AM-4.30 PM, both days, in Bloedel Hall at St Mark’s Cathedral (1245 Tenth Avenue East/Seattle WA 98102).

The Bishop’s office has subsidized most of the cost of this training. Clergy are encouraged bring one or two lay leaders at a cost of $50 for each participant and all participants must commit to full participation in the two-day workshop. To RSVP please email Matt Koski or call 206.325.4200. Lunch will be served so please be sure to tell Matt about any dietary allergies or restrictions. To pay your registration fee send a check to Blaire Notrica at 1551 Tenth Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98102 with Fierce Conversations and the names of participants in the memo line.
